Jakarta - Craft art is a work of art that is made using manual skills and paying attention to functional and aesthetic aspects. According to traditional wood craft books by Martono, in its development, craft art is synonymous with craft art, because it is made by hand.
Each ethnic group or tribe in the islands has craft art that displays unique cultural identities in each region. There are various examples of craft arts that we often encounter in everyday life. Examples of Crafts by Type:

- Batik
Indonesian batik is widely known and is a work of archipelago craft art that has been a tradition for hundreds of years. Batik clothes are often used by almost all groups, both in everyday life or important events.
On October 2, 2009, batik was designated as a masterpiece of oral and intangible humanitarian heritage. That is why every October 2 is commemorated as National Batik Day.
The techniques used in batik include writing and stamping. Writing techniques using canting and the results are written batik, while stamping techniques use tools in the form of stamps made of copper. Then, stamps form certain decorative motives. There is also the term batik printing, which is a batik cloth produced with techniques similar to screen printing.
- Weaving
Types of woven crafts that are widely produced in Indonesia whether bonds and songs weave. Center -Weaving Centers are scattered on the islands of Java, Bali, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, West Nusa Tenggara, and Southeast of East Nusa. The use of animal skin has been done for a long time. Now, cow, goats, buffalo, and snake skin are often used by humans to make various works.
Animal skin is used directly or after being processed first. The processing process is done chemically so that the skin used can be flexible, strong, durable, and comfortable to wear.
in general, stages of processing of animal skin including washing, cleaning, demeaning, coloring, drying, and smoothing. Yogyakarta, Bali, and Sukarangsang are leather craft centers.
